This mission-first decision was made to avoid risking the safety and security of the people we serve. Our client base is over 60% Latino. Bringing these and other vulnerable populations into one public location could clearly put them in harms way. If our clinics were compromised by ICE enforcement actions, the 15 year legacy of trust we’ve earned with our client communities could be severely damaged. A grassroots response to the challenge of accessible care

At Care Harbor mega-clinic events, volunteer professionals, provider organizations and healthcare agencies come together to bring care to thousands of the most vulnerable in our communities. People with nowhere to turn for the healthcare they need receive free medical, dental and vision care, mental health counseling and referrals, prevention resources and follow-up care that puts them on the pathway to a healthier life.

Our free clinics create the opportunity and setting for thousands of volunteers to provide accessible, coordinated care. The entire community benefits. Diagnosing chronic diseases when they are more treatable reduces the burden on safety net resources. Correcting dental and vision problems can make individuals more employable and productive. Preventive care empowers people to lead healthier, more independent lives.
