Care Harbor clinics are community based events, drawing on local health care institutions, agencies and volunteers. Care Harbor event organizers and healthcare professionals work in partnership with local groups to recruit resources and volunteers, coordinate and manage event logistics, and assure the most effective delivery of care – from patient handling and record keeping to educational exhibits and follow-up systems.
We work with community hospitals, medical and dental schools, professional associations,
community clinic networks, and local healthcare agencies to gather the many resources necessary to produce a successful clinic. A national network of supporters and partners can aid this effort.
We also look to local government and healthcare leaders to provide the guidance and counseling necessary to assure that our efforts are closely aligned to community needs.
Care Harbor provides the event organizers, medical, dental and vision directors, along with the support systems and resources to produce a successful event. We work closely with the local team through every stage of the clinic’s development.
Along with the healthcare benefits to their most vulnerable populations, communities may
realize other advantages from their participation. Early diagnosis and intervention allows patients to be treated before diseases reach a critical and costly phase, adding to the burden on often overloaded community resources. Correcting vision and dental problems can increase employability. And the volume of free care delivered at a Care Harbor clinic can have a positive impact on local ER operating costs and waiting times.
Care Harbor events also present an important opportunity for community programs and organizations to reach the people it is their mission to serve – all under one roof at one time.
A Care Harbor clinic is a wonderful example of how much can be accomplished when a community comes together to help its own.
